    DEEP CUT

    Deep Cut is a natural gas liquids (NGL) process to achieve a high recovery of ethane (C2) or propane (C3) from natural gas, typically at cryogenic temperatures. The specific arrangement and design varies and depends on the feed gas composition, required NGL recovery and mode of operation.

ENHANCED LIQUIDS RECOVERY

TDE employs a variety of designs to accommodate the variation in feed and product conditions, which include inlet pressure, degree of water saturation, composition, and contaminants that can impact the selection of the technology suited to treat and process gases. Additional aspects evaluated include high/medium/low liquid recovery levels, liquid and gas product specifications, sales product, energy requirements and economics.

Designed for maximum flexibility to alternate modes of operation without the addition of future equipment. The change in operation allows for the recovery or rejection of ethane due to variability in commodity markets.

Liquid Reflux
• Provides a lean reflux stream to rectify vapours
• Critical factor for high/medium/low recovery level

Mechanical Refrigeration
• Turbo expander/compressor or Joule Thompson effect provides chilling
• Enhancement using propane refrigeration

Market Evaluation
• Variability in commodity market reflects preferred recovery
• Preference for C2 recovery or C2 rejection

Contaminant and Impurities
• Treated and removed upstream to acceptable levels
• Excess carbon dioxide (CO2) results in freezing

Brazed Aluminum Heat Exchanger (BAHX)

Residue Gas Compression
