    HYDROCARBON DEW POINT

Hydrocarbon Dew Point is a natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery process to control hydrocarbon (HC) and water dew points of natural gas through mechanical refrigeration. The gas stream is chilled to separate HC liquids and contacted with a liquid dehydrating agent, most commonly ethylene glycol (EG) to prevent the formation of hydrates.

HYDROCARBON DEW POINT DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

Dew Point Control
• Propane refrigeration cooling to LTS
• Options for higher NGL recovery,
• Joule Thompson (JT) effect
• Turbo expander

Propane Refrigeration
• Compressor capacity and circulation rate
• Minimize compressor horsepower
• Gas chiller evaporating temperature

Chilling Train
• Heat exchangers to recover cooling duty
• Gas chiller sets LTS temperature
• LTS separates residue gas, HC liquids and water

Ethylene Glycol Injection
• Dispersion and injection rate
• Hydrate inhibition at lowest operating temperature
• Vapourize water to regenerate glycol
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX) emissions removal and treatment
